Run your own race
There has been a lot going on lately. My two babies went off to school! Two babies in school- where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday that I brought them hime from the hospital. It was an emotional week as they went off and yet they seem to be adjusting. Perhaps better than Mommy.
We also celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this past week. So many memories and so many changes. I feel so blessed to share my life with my darling husband. He is wonderful and I appreciate being on this journey together. More about this in a coming post!!
The other event around here was the running race I participated in this past weekend. After training all summer I achieved my goal of running a 5k race. I have made some progress from the person who could not run more than 30 seconds at the beginning of the summer to running a whole 5k!!! I really enjoyed working towards my goal and all the support I received from my hubby and friends. Many of the other racers would run quickly and then walk. As my goal for the race was to run the whole way-even if my pace slowed to a crawl, I kept telling myself during the race, "you have to run your own race, you have to run your own race" Kind of a nice metaphor for life.
What events have occupied your life?

It's the little things...
Today it is all about the 'little' things. Those experiences, feelings, thoughts, smiles that come from the small moments in life, what people commonly refer to as the 'little' things, yet - are not so little after all. Here is my ever evolving list for the present moment...
- A good, piping hot, strong, cup of coffee
- Time with my favourite family members
- No longer having to bring the stroller for my oldest darling
- A great massage to help my sore shoulder, from someone whose fingers and hands seem to magically know where the pain is
- Watching my daughter chill out on the couch with a book (she is reading it all on her own)
- Finding a great book at the bookstore that will capture my attention and inspire me
- Sleeping in
- Cuddling with my youngest darling as she wakes up and is warm and cozy, with wild wonderful hair all around her sweet face
- Not having to go to work today
- Going slow
- Grandma kindly agreeing and travelling to get my daughters "must have" lunchbox
- Expressing my feelings without being overwhelmed by them
- Creative thoughts..painting, writing, reading
- Thinking of my husband and being filled with love
- Watching the dog peacefully stretch out and nap on the couch
When I asked my darling daughters about their little happy moments they said...Chocolate and all the candies in the world!
What are yours for today....Enjoy the day and all it' s moments!
