Apples and Outdoor Fun

We are experiencing unusally warm (but much appreciated!) weather in this part of the world.  While the trees with their falling leaves, the early sunset and the school days scream Fall, the weather is of the summer variety.  We are thankful for this push to stay outside, enjoy the sun on our faces, and the sweet warmth on our backs.

We spent time with family this weekend, enjoying great food, slow times, and just being together.  We also went apple picking!  It is a yearly tradition, consisting of hay rides, apple eating right from the trees (yum!), and bringing home a farm fresh apple pie.  The darlings enjoyed the hay barn, where they can let loose, run around, and jump from the haystacks.

We are still all getting over our colds and such, but we could not resist the summer/fall sun and the beauty of time together.
