Beauty: A poetic expression

Beauty

When you came

I held my breath

I pushed and pushed

It felt like a wave

Hard and forceful

Graceful and universal

I felt connected

I felt isolated

It all came crashing in

 

Beauty was here

She demanded attention

Pause and presence

Love and protection

Beauty was relentless

 

Priceless and precious

 

Trying and labouring

 

Time was my vacuum

 

 

 Beauty is tall now

She yells and screams

Smiles and melts

Haunts and is fragile

I pull and pull

Holding, just holding.

Reaching up

To the Earth

To the Light

To the future

 

 

Some days it feels harder...harder to find .... beauty, some calm, a positive flow, a sense of peace, kindness....hope.  Lately, it has been feeling harder...so I am reaching today...reaching for the small areas of joy around me.  Here are some things I noticed today as I tried to remain grounded and peaceful...

 

     -  nature is full of inspiration and renewal....the bursting colours of yellow and red on the leaves, so full and bright, canopies of shelter, light and hope

 

    -  quiet and stopping....when I stopped moving today, took some time by myself, closed off the world and did not think....calm arrived

 

    - children are joy and hope ....as I was picking up my darlings from school today, I watched the kindergarten students, their big smiles, full of pride and excitement, their giggles anchored in the moment ...anchored in the moment...anchored in the moment

 

Here is to looking for the positive....one baby step at a time...
